Toyota techs are just that techs. They are not engineers and should limit their opinions to their limited knowlege base.

Your 2008 Corolla is not affected by the recall. The following vehicles are affected: * 2005-2010 Avalon * 2010 Prius * 2007-2010 Camry * 2009-2010 RAV4 * 2009-2010 Corolla * 2008-2010 Sequoia * 2008-2010 Highlander * 2005-2010 Tacoma * 2009-2010 Matrix * 2007-2010 Tundra * 2004-2009 Prius * 2009-2010 VENZA I'm afraid the problem is not with the accelerator, but it's you. Like you said, you are not a very experienced driver. I don't want to hurt your feelings, but we have enough problems with even the most experienced drivers with faulty cars (Toyotas). If you feel that you cannot control your vehicle (that has no mechanical faults) then you should not be driving in the same roads with people that are competent drivers. Why not a bicycle? who?

Sure go up Malibu Cannon as fast as you can and see if its the accelorator sticking or any good winding curvy road will do. Downhill is best.

2008 and above Corollas will be recalled because the steering is reckless, and the car can not be safely controlled in steering above 55 mph without locking both your hands on the wheel. The car wanders into the other lane. Toyota has removed the quality steering pump...and replaced it with a cheap electronic electric unit to save money on the pumps. These cheap electric steering units are in all their cars now. And the transmissions in the Camrys are electronic also causing the shifting patterns to be defective. All new Toyotas are completely defective from the ground up. Buy one, any model, at your own peril.
