How do I fix my driver slice?

How do you fix a slice with a Taylormade RBZ driver?

  • I recently got the new Taylormade RBZ 9.5 degree driver, and have been having problems with slicing it. What club adjustments to the loft and the face angle should I make to correct ...show more

  • Answer:

For one its a swing issue not an equipment issue.. Two if you must try and fix it with the club set it to draw mode.. Which is simply a closed face which puts the opposite spin direction on the ball of that of a fade.. i.e. a draw, and just play with the lofts to see what works better higher loft means more spin which means a bigger fade or draw so lower loft will make it straighter ... Maybe depending on how bad you cut across the ball

Do you just slice the driver or is the slice a problem that runs through the whole bag.....if its a issue with all your clubs the problem isn't the driver its your swing path and the chances are your swinging out to in, get a video lesson so you can see the fault and fix it. If its just your driver thats giving a slice, 99% the problem will be shaft flex too stiff so get the shaft checked for your swing speed ..

The shaft on this club is longer causing the club head to be late at impact resulting in an open face contact that will cut across the ball. Now obviously I can not see your swing pattern but this is the most common issue I have encountered with the new longer power shafts. You need to see a teaching pro to help you get the clubhead to catchup with your hands. Probably will require a new impact point. 9.5 is plenty of loft with this club. If you have not had slicing problems before then this should be relatively easy to correct. See a teaching pro and make the adjustment. This is a great performance driver.p

okay, to flippantly answer your question ... turn you left hand way to the right!!! but really ... get lessons, check path, angle of descent, reverse pivot, etc. all sorts of things. but a ball flight is not a primary function of a club ... get your swing better. then get clubs that fit your swing. and 9.5 is low of a loft for you, period. tiger uses a 10.5, so what are you doing? sorry.
