    Theoretically you can join at 18, but 92% of all PCVs have a bachelor's degree or better, and thus are 22 or older. By then you will be an adult, and can make your own decisions. What makes you a god candidate is a skill that a host country has asked for and a demonstrated ability to get along in a different culture - one without cable TV and a Starbucks on every corner. JeneWalk did a much better job that I could of the benefits.
