Whats the best MTB i can get with a budget of £300?

You should look around bike shops. there will be a lot of sales of 07/08 models as it nears xmas. You know that both of your links are discontinued

Get a second hand one if you're looking for quality. Most Specialized bikes are up to the task, however you've got to think: - Do you really need discs both front and rear? You'll be compromising the quality of other parts on a budget. The most important parts you should be looking for are: - Wheel rims. Cheap ones WILL buckle under stress. Anyway, go for the Specialized. Having double discs and suspension is no substitute for skill and fitness. Good look!

I know nothing about bikes but there are loads on the police auction site. I think bikes are collection only so you'd need to search near you but you might pick up a bargain!
