Why don't most people who ask questions here realize that answers can be found on most search engines?

Because Yahoo answers is essentially just a human run search engine. Same thing.

asking on yahoo answers seems to be more fun than using a search engine. you also get a lot of different responses. didn't total strangers put together the information you receive from using a search engine?

They think (including me) this is the fastest way to get an answers eventhough it might not the best answers. In addition you can get other people's opinions faster.

it's all about the points me thinks,and possibly the ego boost. it feels good to be a good samaritan every now and again. Even if your response is lacking.
