What is the best way to get internet in Japan for 2 weeks (without going to an internet cafe)?

I'm going to Japan for 2 weeks. My elderly host doesn't have internet, and she lives far from internet cafes.

If her area in has cell coverage, you may want to look at http://softbank-rental.jp/e/. If you're willing to shell out $15/day, they'll give you an iPhone SIM with unlimited data. I recently did this for 12 days in Kyoto and Tokyo, and only once did I find myself out of 3G range. Pickup and dropoff at Narita Airport was fairly quick and easy. Also, you may be satisfied with one of their cheaper options if your data needs are more limited.

I also suggest http://www.bmobile.ne.jp/english/ I have used them during 2wks+ trips to Japan. I have unlocked Android phone and unlocked GSM mobile hotspot. Both work quite well with b-mobile prepaid SIM
