How can I get my Tecumseh engine to get more power and speed?

Just bought a new 2007 chevy silverado, reg cab, v6 4.3L, HOW DO I GET MORE POWER out of the engine?!?!?

  • I am starting to regret not going with the v-8 engine... anyway to get more out of the v-6 engine?!?! dual exhaust help? air intake? any other suggestions? thanks!

    k&n intake gibson exaust and a chip ull spend about 6-900 $ and increase about 80 hp also check in the intake tube, pull it off the trottle body and c if theres a plastic cone if there is pull it out it will gain u some ground till u get any aftermarket stuff but if the is somethin w small wires running vertically across the tube dont pull them out ull lose power could b a mass air flow sensor

how much more power and how much you willing to spend? intake and exhaust is the easy way to go. you can maybe pick up ten horses in spots. next is pulleys. if you have a/c you can always by pass it lol. from there it gets expensive quickly!

your dealer has add on power packages you can choose from.they do that to make extra $,after sales instead of putting it on the vehicle.parts stores sell computer chips with lots of get up an go.your model mite have a programmable chip,where a garage could amp up performance. happy trails

i got the 4.3 get the v8 you can put 2000 into v6 and not have power of STOCK v8

You can get decent power out of the 4.3 with an intake, headers, and exhaust for less than $1,000. Sadly thats a big truck and the V6 will stuggle with the weight. It probably gets the same mileage as the smaller V8 but is slower and less powerful. I didnt say you can get the same power Pedro. I said you can gain some power.
