no if the scratch is too light... it can simply be removed by buffing and polishing it they are just trying to rip you off get your insurance inspector to inspect their car if you really want to pay for the job... honestly the buffing might cost you about 200 bucks,,,,

There's no need to bring it to a shop actually. The BMW company, or other companies actually sell car paint and an enamel coat that sits over the paint. Looks like nothing happened. Just match the color with the paint, follow the instructions. It will save money in the long run.
