Can I make a regular mini cooper similiar to a mini cooper S?

    If you are talking about horsepower: Not without massive amounts of money. You can take a Cooper S, add about $2000 of modifications and add 30-40 hp. If you take that same $2000 and add it to a Cooper (non-S) you will only get about 3-4 hp. Now, if you are talking about performance in terms of handling, that can be done. The same suspension parts that fit the S will fit a Cooper, so you can upgrade the shocks, struts and especially the swaybars (replacing your stock rear swaybar with an upgraded one or even a take-off from a sports package S will give you a GREAT improvement in feel). I might suggest some koni yellow shocks with Texas Speedworks springs (now sold by Way motorworks in Atlanta) for an incredible feeling suspension that is nicely lowered but not too low to drive on city streets. If you don't have any driver training, both the S and the base Cooper can outperform your skills. Consider taking a high performance driver's education weekend to tighten up the loosest nut in the car... the one behind the wheel. To the person correcting capitalization: A classic Mini is spelled "Mini". A modern, BMW designed car is spelled "MINI".

You'd be much better off just selling the base Cooper and buying an '03 S. You can find them now for $7000--$8000. Besides the supercharger, you'd have to beef up other parts of the car (certainly the clutch) and I'm just not seeing the wisdom of attempting this.

Mini Cooper. Proper name. Please, capitalize all proper names and the first word in all sentences. Required. As to your question. With enough money you can do anything. The issue is cost. It would be far cheaper and more logical to trade the one vehicle for the S model. Brakes, suspension, motor, cooling, etc. come to mind. And after all of the word it needs to work correctly. Not recommended. Trade it in.

They have differnt syspensions and that would probably be eough to make it oerform more like the S does, however, they still are excellent cars as far as performance goes. The only physical differences in the appearance is the hood scoop on the front of the S.
