How did the American people get conned into a "for profit" health care system when the rest of the world?

Americans have been brainwashed to fear anything that sounds even remotely like socialized medicine. The health insurance industry has spend a lot of money on propaganda and it has worked.

Someone has to pay to keep the profit margins way up, don't they? <<Why do people who belong to countries with socialized health care fly to America to get treated?>> Because 85 year olds can't pay more, in those countries, to deprive a younger perosn of an organ transplant, just so they can cling to a couple more years of life while depriving a younger person of the rest of their life. Well, people in general are illogical and easily tricked. If you understand how someone thinks, you can make them act anyway you want. That is power. Advertising companies and any kind of media outlet as well as the government all use studies done by psychologists to sway pop opinion. Americans have been taught to fear communism, socialism, or anything that even remotely resembles either. Whether they know anything about it, or think they do, or not they're against it because they've been taught to fear it. (and i've had plenty of first hand experience with people like this) So, whether any of the principles of these ideologies are beneficial or not... it doesn't matter. Peace

I know. I can't stand when people say they don't want to pay for the health care of someone else. We already do through higher insurance premiums and hospital bills! It would actually be cheaper to pay higher taxes for everyone to have health care than to use the "for profit" system we have now.

The USA is the land of unregulated capitalism and unbridled greed. When one combines that with corrupt government that supports such actions by both individuals and companies, one quickly find one facing the "for profit" medical system that we now have. Doctors in the USA take the Hippocratic oath but they do not abide by or follow the same. Be well, spiritually and physically (especially if your in the USA...)

Why do people who belong to countries with socialized health care fly to America to get treated?

FDR had WWII to keep him occupied and died too early. He should have been giving Republicans heartburn for a couple more terms. Truman had to tone things down to avoid being targeted by that traitor Joe McCarthy. LBJ started Medicare, but the stupid Republican war kept him and Humphrey from another term while the so-called "peace" candidate, Tricky Dick, lived up to his name by dragging out the war and scamming us with HMO's.

Look I resent the tone of this question! The health system in the US is the best that money can buy!
