Because.... (drum rolls) the designers of our economy want us to spend spend spend on education too. Ask yourself this: Why do professionals have to take CPE at exorbitant prices, like college education, after you have received your degree, passed the test, etc. I guarantee those courses don't teach you how to do your job. You cannot learn how to be a real CPA via books and classes. It must be on the job training. Education is a carrot that is held in front of people to tell them they are not qualified. It is a farce. We don't need more education. We need more jobs with apprenticeships, on the job training, and promotions within the company. Oh wait, that would make too much sense. That's not how our country swings in the business world, as evidenced by our current financial nightmare. Education, stock market, oil prices, insurance, health care, etc all capitalistally designed methods to get your money. Try to save as much as you can, and don't get more education, get experience and a promotion or go self employed in something.
