At $4.00 per gallon and 25 miles per gallon the gasoline cost would be about $225 Of course, with two small kids in the car you'll have to take a few days to make the trip - probably 3 or 4. You can camp as you go and take food in a cooler to save on your expenses that way. An air ticket will run about $200 per person (the 1 year old flies free in someone's lap) with a 2 week advance purchase.
