University of Wisconsin is considered a good school in my state... However Purdue is considered the same level as U of Michigan to us... or even higher

University of Wha? Michigan is well-respected... Wisconsin... is OK, not the best, not the worst. very average. Hence, to answer your question, NO, it is not considered "prestigious." It's not a big name. You don't see employers pining for their graduates or flocks of high schoolers selecting University of Wisconsin as their "top choice."
