What info does colleges have access to?

Can colleges buy high school student's addresses who have good grades in order to give them info?

  This sort of thing amongst educational institutions happens all the time, and honestly, why wouldn't you want them to do so? If this were regarding negative behavior then one might see a possible downside, but in your situation there's no reason not to explore all possible options for your education. If you don't like the mail then you might want to think about why you're working so hard for that 4.0 if you don't want schools competing for you.
