Will the olympic torch make it out of San Fransico still lit?

San Francisco actually has, proportionately, the largest Asian population of any city in the United States (not 2 million, though... there aren't even 1 million people total in the city), the largest number of whom are Chinese. We also have the country's oldest "Chinatown". So it makes perfect sense that the torch would come through here. If it can survive London, Paris, Canberra, and, hell, even Istanbul, then it can survive San Francisco. ^ that "if" isn't rhetorical, btw Whatever. With the China/Tibet issue and the world breaking out in riots, I really don't think the Olympic torch is the biggest concern.

I hope it does. As liberal as SF claims to be, I hope they can rise above and not take thier protests out on the flame or the runner carrying it. More people support the Olympics and the flame than people protesting China. The Olympic flame is not about China but about the Olympics. Go protest at the Embassy, or does SF need to put on a show? Some people might glorify SF for putting out the flame or diverting it, but most people won't. I lived in SF, and admire it's liberal attitude, but not it's self-proclaimed righteousness.
