Are the 4th of july fireworks in san francisco long, loud, and spectacular?

Here's one link from last year from Google "San Francisco fireworks" Everything will be the same except for the entertainment: http://sf.funcheap.com/san-francisco-4th-july-fireworks-show/ The fireworks are in the north part of the city, towards the Golden Gate Bridge, and generally it's a party all day long. There is always a chance of fog - even heavy fog - but there's nothing you can do about that. They'll set them off anyway.

On a clear day they look amazing. Last year it was a bit foggy so it was just ok, and it was cold. But usually its pretty nice.

Ive seen a lot of fireworks shows, and I think SF if very average... Ive lived here 6 years. Almost everyyear there is a lot of fog and you cannot see anything, you just hear the noise. But some years you may get lucky and get clean skies and see the fireworks. They last about 30 mins. What I hate is how its really really crowded, and after the fireworks, there is unbearable traffic, impossible to get a taxi or even a public bus! it really helps if you are staying at a hotel in fisherman's wharf so you can just walk home. so again in my opinion, average fireworks, way too many people. i think the new years eve fireworks in SF are better than 4th of july... but if you are from a really small town, you will probably enjoy them. p.s. the greatest 4th of july fireworks I have ever seen in my life anywhere is at Lake Tahoe :)

They do a good job with them in my opinion and there maybe be waterfront fireworks show around the Pier 39 area.
