Get rid of the NHS bureaucrats, and give their money to the nurses. We seem to be going back to the time, when only the privileged few could afford treatment.

Yes well said. That's conservative policy for you. Keeping the workers wages down stealth cut backs.

Hi T

It doesnt make sense. They are cutting nurses to save money, but then employing lots of agency staff and having to pay high agency fees as well as nurses wages. The mind boggles. I think its to cause low morale amongst the staff and Despot Daves way of craftily privatising health care.

If it means re-employing the nurses who have compassion, common sense and empathy then I am all for it. Anyone who has read the account of the poor boy who died from lack of water in St Georges Hospital Tooting will not have failed to be alarmed at the nurses the NHS employs today. This is not an isolated case either. I have witnessed nurses ignoring people calling out to them either to go to the toilet, be fed or just want some reassurance. It is time to go back to when girls wanted to be nurses, got taught on the wards and genuinely cared for their patients. A degree from Uni means nothing as common sense and compassion cannot be taught.

This is happening throughout the public sector, to nurses, teachers, well to so many people in middle income public sector jobs. The conditions of the contract for the 'new' job they apply for will be changed. Some will simply not be given the job which reduces redundancy payments.

It's our country,we employ and pay the politicians so why can't we back the nurses and make it clear to our government that this is unacceptable,it's time for the government to stop this penny pinching from the NHS,how about we stop providing free care and treatment to foreigners, let them use insurance like we have to when we visit their countries, that would save the NHS millions for a start

Can u trust Govt statement most of the nurses are from india . so need not sack just amend immigration and settlement law , they will go away and get new ones from philipines . economic affect would be achieved . there would be no saving to the exchequer as a result of nurse sacking . the Heath bureacrats will get compensation more than saving for the excellent work done
