Which Network TV news staff seems the least prone to create Hysteria or panic?

TV - none of them. Even the local news teams rely on hysteria-inducing hooks to get you to tune into the late night news. After all, they're just TV shows and therefore have to be concerned with ratings and marketshare just like anything else. Especially the 24hr stations which are competing against an ever increasing number of media sources including their own websites.

How about TBN. Frankly I don't watch TV, couldn't hear it, but I've gone through the programs. I like the 700 club for one thing, read the book about how it all started. My daughter in law watches it. She said her niece was healed after someone called in and asked for healing. http://www.tbn.org/

First I will quip that your question is a really, really tough one, since all U.S. big media is not only completely prone to create hysteria and panic, they do so on a regular basis, especially during entire Presidential election year. And to your: {{{Least prone to hysteria- CBS - appears most stable, sober & trustworthy.}}}: Is that why unfortunately Katie Couric's anchoring was the least watched and why sometimes their ratings are in the tanks? Yes, it's very unfortunate but America has a sort of love-hate relationship with it's media, and craves loud, big news. For example something some of us are wondering is: Why is no one in America raising their voice about 24/7 news, articles and photos about the two Boston terrorist suspects, but hardly anything has been mentioned about the four victims???? Did anybody notice the sudden change in "behavior" in America concerning perpetrators and victims? Four months ago, while the Sandy Hook tragedy was being played 24/7 on every channel, every internet site, most of the comments at end of articles were: "Please DO NOT talk anymore about that monster (mentally ill) Adam Lanza!" Few months earlier it was "Please DO NOT mention that monster Holmes who shot to death 14 people in the Aurora, Colorado theather. Let's only talk about the victims and their good deeds. We should try to erase these monsters from everyone's minds. By talking and writing about them we are giving in to them!" So, what happened? Dead terrorist Tamerlan and his brother are constantly on every front page, cable news and big media online sites. Why the difference?
