What are the different sections of Philadelphia?

Considering moving from Philadelphia PA to Portland Oregon, where is a good section to move to?

    I stayed in West Philli for a while and only went to North Philli once. Compared to there, ANYWHERE in Portland will be soo nice!!! Portland is a really cool city and there is a lot to do. There is really good transportation systems throughout the city so getting around is not an issue. I did really like South Philli and Center City, but Portland is an all around safer, funner, and just more laid back city.

Go to the pearl district if you can afford it and stay away from old town simple as that

Portland is relatively safe. I think for the most part you want to be on the south side though, SE or SW. It's not hard to get around either way. Prices vary but you can probably find an apartment for like $500-600 a month if you don't need a lot of space.
