What to do for free in Lancaster, PA for a day?

  I took a little day trip to Lancaster today as a matter of fact. I went to Kitchen Kettle Village. Cute shops there and you can take a buggy ride. Stop at the road side stands for relish, pickles, pies and fresh produce. Eat at Millers smorgasboard or if you want a really mind blowing eating experience - eat at Shady Maple. The restaurant is HUGE and the food is really good. You'll be stunned and amazed when you walk in because of the size of the place. The train is Strasburg is really cute, and down the road from there you can rent scooters. The Christmas museum is very charming. I didn't notice today, but there is a corn maze near the Strasburg rail road, and if it is open that is fun too (I think the name of the farm is Cherry Crest?) The Herrs potato chip factory has tours that are really interesting and fun. You get to taste hot chips fresh from the fryer - yum! Lots of antique shops scattered throughout Lancaster if that interests you. It's a pretty ride. Go take a look around!
