How long does it take something mailed from Allentown PA to get to Philadelphia PA?

  • Someone mailed me tickets yesterday from Allentown, PA. They sent the tickets around 3:30. How long will the tickets take to get to Philadelphia, PA? I need them here before Saturday.

    You might get them today. Or you might get them tomorrow. Or you might get them on Saturday. Or you might get them on Monday. The USPS is totally unreliable anymore. There was a time when mail that close would probably come the next day or at worst in 2 days. It's totally unpredictable anymore. Amazon has a warehouse in Allentown. It's fun to watch the tracking when I order from them because it doesn't even go in anything that slightly resembles a straight line.

If they mailed them on Wednesday it should take 3 or 4 days using standard mail. Saturday is only 3 days. That is cutting it way too close. They won't leave the originating Post Office until Wednesday night. Then it takes a day to get to the destination Post Office where it spends another day to be sorted and placed on a truck for delivery. One day tot get delivered. So that's one day at each Post Office, one day for transit and one day for delivery. That's four days. If you need them BEFORE Saturday, you're screwed. If you need them for Saturday night you may be OK but you are cutting it very close.
