I am not sure about any websites which compares New York area skiing resorts but I know of an area near NYC which many native NY'ers go to for skiing/snowboarding. The area is called the Poconos which is actually a mountain range in Pennsylvania. It's not too far from NYC and the area is filled with several ski resorts. I think the Catskill mountains has ski resorts too but I'm not too sure about that.

The ski areas closest to NYC are not necessarily in NY state. Would search NY, NJ , CT, PA, VT for state run facilitie & ski resorts. Each state has areas within the 4 hr range. Best regards
