Well, this is kind of grim, but since New York City is the home of many hospitals and doctors that are the absolute best specialists in the entire world in their fields, you could convince your folks you have some really awful disease and that the only place in the entire world where you can find a cure is in New York City, and then, when you get here, as soon as the plane touches down at JFK Airport, you yell, "April Fool! Just kidding, I'm really fine, but, as long as we're here, what the heck, let's have a nice vacation, eh?" ;-) Good luck!
