You are better off calling the Human Resources Administration at 1-877-472-8411. Why? Medicare coverage outside the United States is limited. http://www.medicare.gov/publications/pubs/pdf/11037.pdf

No airline will allow your wife to fly when she is 8 months pregnant, however if you can afford the airline tickets why is Medicaid ( which is the taxpayers money) paying your hospital bill? To answer your question, Medicaid will not pay your medical bills in another country. That will be your responsibility.

Prairie Girl

Doubt it. Our health insurance is good for this country, not using it in other countries. Do you understand the consequences of having your child born in another country, citizenship, etc.? Besides will the airlines let her fly when she is that far along?

I would hope that medicaid would want to know where both of you got the money to go to Belgium. And where you're going to get money for 3 of you to come back. They would probably question your eligibility.

The assumption is if you are on Medicaid you are financially not able to travel outside the US. There is no way Medicaid would be able to reimbujrse the doctor in a foreign country. Only those providers who have a contract with Medicaid can be reimbursed. This applies to Medicare also. You probably wont pay anything in Belgium.

Flower

I doubt it, but thats a question Medicaid can answer by calling them. The reason they wouldn't is because it is not recommended by any doctor that a pregnant woman travel especially by air when they are 8 or 9 months pregnant. I would think you are going to miss the wedding.

The question is, you can afford international travel but, not insurance?
