Was the North Hollywood neighborhood considered a bad area?

  • I was born in Queen of Angels hospital in North Hollywood. I was just wonderin during the late 70's early 80's was North Hollywood a bad area.

    Queen of Angels is now known as Hollywood Presbyterian, and was never in North Hollywood. North Hollywood is a rough area today, but not as bad as Pacoima or Arleta. The area in and around the North Hollywood Arts District is actually quite nice and the only exception.

The hospital closed in Jan. 1989 and doctors, records and patients were transferred to Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital. http://hollywoodpresbyterian.com/ The former Queen of Angels Hospital building is frequently used as a filming location for movies, and allegedly one floor of the building is haunted.
