Good neighborhoods in LA where earthquakes don't happen often?

I really want to move there when I'm older and I'm wondering, what are some good areas(as far as crime and the ppl) that I can live in(apartment) that earthquakes don't ...show more

Answer:
Its hard to be serious when you ask a silly question.. Earthquakes happen and they dont happen in one area more than another..You cant live in a earthquake safe area in Los Angeles. Your question is sort of like asking for an apartment where the sun does not shine... When a big earthquake happens we all feel it..Depending on where it is centered this will dictate the effects it has on people..The farther you are away from the "epicenter" the less you will feel and the less damage it will create in your home.. Currently there is no way of knowing where earthquakes will happen next...and there is no place where earthquakes happen more than others..so I cant recommend any area for you.

If an earthquake occurs in L.A. you will feel it no matter where you live. Don't worry they are not that bad; they are usually over in 10 seconds.

There is really no neighborhood that is totally free of earthquakes in the California area. I have lived through two earthquakes that were serious and caused considerable damage to structures around me. They happened 23years apart. Now if you are afraid of earthquakes my suggestion is you stay where you are and not move here. Personally, I am more afraid of Hurricanes and tornando that occur seasonally every year than the earthquakes that occur every 20 t0 50 years.

Born and Raised in LA. I've only been through 2 earthquakes. If you are so much in fear of a simple earthquake, I suggest you stay where you are. They build the buildings here to withstand earthquakes.

Lol there is no avoiding the earthquakes, LA is practically on the San Andreas Fault. Don't worry bout them you get used to them and there rare well at least the ones you actually feel! Anyways I live in the Hollywood Hills. Love it! Pasadena is also really nice and so is Malibu. Apartments run $1000 and up (1 bedroom/ studio) EDIT: The least earthquakes? Sacramento Ca (state capital)!! I also have a house there and no earthquakes. Plus its only an hour away from San Francisco! So your still close to the beach. Plus apartments are cheaper here alittle ($800 and up)
