The strip is the best place to be. Downtown is the second best place to be.

the Strip it is built for catering to tourists, regardless of your budget When I went a few years back, I stayed on the Strip, found a great deal online

Punk Rock and Minerals

on strip for sure. and from there mid strip to me is best that way you can head north 1 day south anpother and neever be too far from your room. like say if yo ustay at NYNY but you are at The Wynn, thats a long trek. where as if you stay at somewhere like harrahs or bally you are mid way and near both nyny and wynn. examples i used of nyny harrahs are more of the affordable range, you can always stay at like Caesars Palace which is mid strip and awesome hotel all at same time, or venetian as well

Look on the strip - that is where most of the resorts and tourist attractions are located. The Downtown area is also somewhat popular, but not nearly as much. Once on the strip, the central strip area is ideal, as you can more easily walk to the things you want to see and do. There are a wide range of resorts, with a wide range of prices, in that area. My favorites are Venetian and Caesars, for more higher-end hotels. Flamingo is great if you're on a budget (as are Harrah's and Bally's), and Monte Carlo and MGM are good places in between.

The main strip.

Anything one mile north or south of Flamingo Road on Las Vegas Boulevard. That's where everything you think about when you think of Vegas is, and it's far easier to walk around the area than to drive.
