    It's safe. I use the orange line to get downtown because it's near my house. During the morning on mon. through friday its packed with high school kids and college students going to school at downtown.So your best time to use the train without being packet is around 11:00pm to 1:00pm & even then it still might be packed.

I wouldn't say it's the safest but if you travel at somewhat peak times and don't get off unless you know where you're going you shouldn't have a problem at all.

It is safe but it can get really packed. Try to ride the train between 11am-2pm if you plan to sit during the ride.
