  • hey, i've been planning to go to Greece for vacation this summer. but a friend of mine said that Greece is having a recession and we shouldn't go there..

    Protests may happen especially in Athena and your travel plans may be affected by strikes . If you encounter protests is better to avoid that area . Other then this nothing else should affect your trip. In resorts is very improbable that you will have any problem .

yeah of course its still safe when you are aware of the dangers like every other country. i d reccomend you though to visit except from islands and athens, other places too like the least known places which may turn out to surprise you...

Greece had 11% increase in tourists there during 2013 , so 4 million people do not agree with your friend . Does the Crudbucket ,Ohio , Daily Examiner not have a foreign news section ? because the economic problems of Greece are hardly news to the rest of the population of this planet . I went there twice last year and am going for a long trip there in 3 months time , it is a super place and I recommend you go . As for Safety , please note that Greek citizens do not routinely go about armed with assault rifles , unlike in your country .

Are you in America? Because surely they can't be any worse off then us. No seriously I have no idea about anything going on in Greece but I'm just saying why let a recession stop you from doing something if you can afford it? This might be a once in a lifetime chance
