Such a beautiful heirloom rose! You may find this helpful. http://rosefile.com/RosePages/Pots01.html You do need a VERY large container. This rose can grow 8' tall. Consider support as well as container size. Good luck

Your best bet to get it right would be to go to a proper garden centre and buy a good quality compost relative to the rose that has added fertiliser in it.
