Can I grow an orchid from seed and how long would it take?

Can I take a seed from a fruit, plant it, and grow some more fruit?

  • Can I take the seed of a nectarine or pluot (apricot and plum), plant it, and eat the fruit off of the plant? If so, what exactly do I do? Thanks :)

  • Answer:

yes, though depending on the type of fruit/plant it may take a while. fruits that grow on trees (apple, oranges, the ones you listed, and more) will take longer than fruits that grow as a plant/bush (strawberries, blueberries, etc). for fruits that grow on trees, you have to grow the seed to a fairly mature tree before it will bear fruit, AKA years. i would go to a garden center and get a few strawberry plants. they are faily easy to grow, and you don't have to wait years for fruit. good luck!

well im pretty sure you can do that to SOME of the fruits... it depents on the weather and the soil types... i mean.. different fruits grow on different regions...
