Does neem and geranium oils work as a mosquito repellent?

  Neem is an insectiCIDE. which means it kills bugs. so it seems to me a bad idea to put it into prolonged contact with the skin. maybe you could use it to spray on clothing but if it truly worked as a replellent<then that means it is releasing fumes for the bugs to detect>and that means you are breathing it too. i am not acquainted with geranium oil. there are many recipes for homemade repellent. some articles say they work better than commercial mixtures so u might find a good one: http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=homemade+mosquito+repellent&ei=utf-8&fr=b1ie7 the best repellent i used so far is "skin so soft" it is sold by avon and i think there might be a copycat brand on the shelves at drugstores or such.
