How long does it take for seeds to sprout??

you can tell your husband he is wrong. a lot of times seeds will start this way when nothing else works. once they start you can carefully plant them. some seeds can take months to germinate. some i plant take from a few weeks to 4 months, same seeds. one other advantage to the paper towels is you can tell what the percentage of seed germination. I perfer potting soil but the towels do work

3 days is most common for the quickest seeds. For flowers you can try zinnias & marigolds. Mine sprouted in 2-3 days using a simple indoor greenhouse($5). My older brother used to use cotton balls inside clear plastic cups. He would soak the cotton balls in water then stuff them into the cup. Then he would space out the seeds between the cotton and the cup so you could see them grow. Keep em in a sunny/warm place. *Note: not all seeds require 'light' to germinate, just warmth & moisture

It does work. Beans are the best. They will sprout in about three days. Keep them in a warm spot and keep the bag closed.

they would probobly mold like that but I have heard you can just use the paper havn't tried it. All seeds are different but most come up 7-14 days. Some may take longer. I may have to try this method out and see.
