Bra washing and hand wash only clothes?

  • can i put my bra's in the washer in a lingrie bag? i am sick of washing them in woolite? how do you wash your bra's and hand clean only clothes? thanks in advance for the replies

    it depends on what your washer is like. if it is the top loading washer, and you have underwires, the twisting motion of the agitator can make the wires poke thru the bras outter fabric, even in a lingerie bag. if you have a front loading washer, you can put them in on delicate wash cycle and hang dry. you don't have to use woolite. any detergent is fine.... for really delicate stuff, i fill a bucket with warm (never hot) water and some tide and just put the stuff in and let soak a bit... then i pour the whole bucket into the sink, and swish around the items.. then rinse and blot with a towel and then hang to dry.

i wash my bra's in a lingerie bag on the gentle cycle. the rest of my hand wash clothes go on the gentle cycle too.

Sure, you can use a laundry bag for things you don't want to become mangled. You can use any laundry soap with cold water. I try to have hand-wash articles done by the cleaners, or I'll soak them in my big plastic basin and do 'em by hand. Just call me Wanda the WasherWoman.

i hand wash them in a small bucket with soft detergent it goes really fast

So long as you don't put too much washing in at the same time they should be alright on a gentle wash, but if you put too much washing in then the underwires may snap

I'm with the first answerer. I also put hand wash clothes in lingerie bags before sticking them in the washer on the delicate cycle. I always wash my clothes in cold water. I always line dry bras, hand wash clothes, and anything I don't want to shrink.
