Can you hand wash clothes with powder detergent?

  ..oh no no no, YoYoYo ! - First, go scrounge around the laundry area for an old, empty laundry bottle. If you can't find one.. just use anything you can find that is close-able. Like an empty Cranapple bottle, an empty plastic tub for cottage cheese, empty anything, really. Arizona Ice Tea large plastic jug works well. But anything will do..just as long as there wasn't a dark, stain-y type of thing in it..like Merlot, Grape juice or Plasma. (NOTE: Gasoline containers are not recommended). You could use a seal-able Zip-Lock baggie, if no container is available. - Depending on the size of the container.. (2 liter container = 1/4 cup powder = the rest hot water) kind of thing. - Put some of your powder in the container (make sure it's CLEAN especially if it's from Butter, Salsa, Juice, Tea, or food) and add the hottest water you can get your hands on. Shake virorously. Keep shaking. (if you can find two, matching containers, you can do this for a while = toning your upper arms). You're objective is to dissolve the powder in water BEFORE you use it in the cold water hand-wash. - If you DON'T dissolve the powder first, it may remain kind of stuck on your shirt, in weird spots and it's not easy to remove it, since it's a cool water, hand-wash item. - Once the powder's been dissolved in the hot water mix in the bottle..you fill the sink or bucket with cold water, and add your soapy water. (you can also add some liquid laundry sofener to this, before you shake) and it will dissolve the softener & the powder together..oooh..it's a win/win. You're working SMARTER vs HARDER, YoYoYo! - Fill the sink with cold water, add the soapy mix, stir around..add shirt. Swish around with your hands. Keep swishing and sloshing it in there. If you have any spots you can work on them with a sponge (not scrubbie sponge) just regular..or your fingers. Keep sloshing until it seems clean. Or, walk away and do some leg lifts for 10 minutes. - Drain water. Refil with new, clean cool water and keep rinsing until water runs clear. If you want to make a day of it, just let it soak in the fresh water for a while..you could do some stretching exercises. - Do a final rinse. Ring out every inch of of. Hang to dry. If you're worried about little poke-y looking shoulders (happens when a hanger hits funny on a shoulder of a shirt or sweater while air-drying) then find a long stick or broom stick. (unscrew broom, first). Run the stick through the arms and top of the shirt and let it air dry. OR hang from the bottom of the shirt, so it doesn't dry odd around the neck or shoulders. - If you prepare the powder by dissolving in hot water and having it on hand, it'll be easier next time. (Mark container with a Sharpie so you don't drink it, in case you use Juice container). Preparing the powder to be ready-to-go for hand-wash-cold tasks is good, but, you may not get as much exercise..so, up to you.
