Popular girls, please help? How to become popular in high school?

Ta-Da! - Popular without trying too hard? Just simple gestures people find cute - like running your hand through your hair or a wink. Strut your stuff (: Lots of populars wear makeup, too. Just a tip - don't ever let anyone influence you to get into drugs and smoking etc. because that's part of the reason why people are popular - they're known for what they do outside of school. - I know everyone says "Be yourself, and you'll be popular!" and yes, that's part of it, but not the whole shabang. If you're goofy and immature, like you said, don't try to cover it up completely - because then you're just being false. Just tone it down a bit, and act more mature. (: - Yup, Nordstroms is big now, so is Forever 21. Those plus Wet Seal are in. - Personality? Like, calm, cool, and collected. Kind of like that kick your heels up on the table attitude - carefree. - Hmm.. You could always say like "Hm (like a little 'hm') I like your dress (etc)." and if they say anything back just continue and be like "Where did you get it?" or you could just walk away, haha. TIPS: - Yeah, don't wear hollister / abercrombie / aero. That's a start. Your ticket to being popular is to join various clubs and sports!! Don't join the chess club or band!! If you are athletic and have confidence to try out for many sports then that should be your focus. Playing sports will introduce you to lots of other people and events. And it will make you have a slamming body! If you aren't athletic, then try to join a club or two. Also, keep your grades up; popular kids don't associate with others that have lousy grades. As far as your wardrobe is concerned, keep a look out on your first day as to what these kids are wearing, then ask a simple question to the girl sitting next to you "Hey love that shirt where did you buy it?". The key to being popular is confidence! Popular kids pick up on others that dont have any self-esteem and thus ignore them.

Stand out! Be individual! And most importantly be confident with it! If someone laughs at what you wear/do/like, just act like they are the laughable ones for not agreeing! People will follow the ones that lead :) be cool girl!

Just be yourself! Alot of girls at my school are liked by being who they are. They're not popular but everyone likes them and thats who you want to be! You don't want to be continuously involved in all the drama and stuff do you?

Highschool is where everybody is trying to figure out who they are. Popular girls are usually popular because they know (or pretend) that they know who they are or know where they're going. In doing this, other girls immediately follow them because they're insecure about themselves and need to be around a confident person. That's what it's all about. Confidence. Confidence & entrances. When you walk around, don't walk like a queen, walk like you just won a basketball game or did something amazing. Heels are amazing for entrances, they always make noise so people automatically notice you. So learn to walk and practice it. Another thing you're going to need for this is experiences. So this summer, you NEED to go to parties and do some stuff, because if you're only skin-deep, you'll crumble. Truthfully, you should really try and look more indie; it's really being brought back in the latest fashion magazines. So get some high-waisted shorts, tank-tops, and some long necklaces and be one of the trendsetters who bring that back (google it). And make sure you know how to put makeup on. Never wear too much eyeliner! Basically, have confidence and find little ways to bring positive attention to yourself. Though seriously, unless you really in the top spot, being popular sucks! You walk through the halls with a bunch of dumb, pretty girls with everyone saying hi to you, while your "friends" insult you, and because you won't be in the top spot (being new & all) you really won't be able to say anything back. Think about that.

I think you should shop at forever 21 because they have a bunch of different things so no one will look the same as you. Act confident. Don't show any weakness if someone teases you. Look happy and proud. Join as many school clubs or teams as you can, as long as they aren't nerdy ones. Be friendly. Say hello, how are you, etc. And ALWAYS use direct eye contact. Make sure your hair and makeup is perfect, and don't touch it up at school, or else you will look like your trying to hard. Wear natural looking makeup yet makeup that enhances a lot. Like, bright red lipstick is a bit much, so settle for lipgloss. I'm not sure what else to say. Just be fun, energetic, non-shy, friendly, and confident. maybe read some Seventeen magazines. haha

You dont start out being popular you are when you and all your friends are popular. and its really hard making new friends in high school because everyone is already super close to thier friends. Your going to start out from the bottom...maybe you can work your way to the top but youll probably have to lie, and be mean to some people. your just going to have to be funny, likeable, and confident

Freshmen's are already unpopular, ninth grade right? The older kids would already tell your trying too hard. You said" f your here to tell me about the "popularity isn't great" crap, then don't bother." (??) Its not that its 'not' good to be popular, its that you just need be yourself. i know you hear it alot and i do too... but try that and im sure u might like being yourself. If you don't know how to be yourself learn about being confident and be comfortable with you. Make your own 'stand out' 'mark' ;be a leader and people who wear aero., ambercrobie and fitch and all that stuff do have a sense of style. You have a sense of no knowledge! -
