Do Canadian keyboards go AZERTYUIOP & have accents? Or is there different keyboards in Quebec?

    All windows powered computers can type in all languages. But - the keyboards do look different in different countries. Most computers sold in Canada will have a universal English/French keyboard but will not type the French characters until you do a keyboard selection in your computer set-up. You can also choose to make your keyboard so universal that you can type ALL the characters in ALL European languages, including Hungarian or Czech. Go here: Control panel Region and Language Keyboard and languages - the most common "universal" keyboard set up is to chose "USA International" - that will give you lots and lots of characters, some including the "Alt Car" key and letter to create the Character. French letters é are easy, just type ' and then e and they will combine. Try and you will learn. If you particular keyboard is not there, you can get it from Microsoft, for free. Then, if you type in Chinese or Kanji (Japanese) you will have to put stickers on your keys.

In Vancouver it's all US keyboards. Not sure about Quebec. I'm not sure about Windows or Mac, but in Linux if I assign a compose key I can create éâç etc. by typing alt-'-e/ ^a/,c which isn't so bad. I work in a somewhat international environment and I've only ever seen a couple of German keyboards brought in by Europeans.

Amazing- I've never thought of this but I should have! English-canadian keyboards are standard QWERTY. But all the places in Canada where French is typed MUST have the other type.
