    I agree-some landlords don't check...513 is kinda low for my liking...I look for 675 minimum...Not that you are a bad person---try to get that score up though.Pay all bills on time and more then the minimum...Try not to charge more then 30% of your credit line..See if you can get your credit lines raised a bit with current holders-or take out new accounts....don't use them---this will increase your credit to debt ratio which weighs heavily in calculating your FICO score.

It really depends on the property management/Land Lords requirements. I know when me and my now fiance first got an apartment together.. both of our scores were in the 600's and that apartment complex required us to either pay first months rent and the deposit up front or we could get a co-signer and only pay the deposit. So my parents co-signed on the apartment. Good Luck!
