  • Answer:

Are you aware that you cannot just show up in Canada , live and work there? You need to quaalify for a work visa...a difficult and time consuming process.

Shaun I assume by your questions you are talking about the region u r from London England and not London Ontario. Montreal is fascinating and has many advantages over other cities and I for one would never live in say Toronto HOWEVER unless you speak fluent French and are business oriented TORONTO or some other places in WESTERN CANADA are a much better choice for a person like you.

Shaun, without all the crap man. Your better off staying where you are, and we haven't started accepting new applications as yet. Only a small number filtering through from our Embassies, and the humanitarian applications.

No, it is not easy to get a job anywhere in Canada, not just Montreal. You would need to be fluently bilingual (English and French). Unemployment is higher in Canada than what the figures show. It can be very cold in most parts of Canada at some point during winter. The only possible exception might be lower British Columbia. When it gets really cold, sometimes car batteries die and it can be difficult to switch rail lines.

You will need to speak excellent French, have a qualification or work skill in demand in Canada, work experience, good health and a clean record. Then you apply for a visa. There are unemployed people in Canada too, so you are unlikely to get a job unless you are well qualified.

Since you don't specify, I'll assume you mean London, Ontario and won't touch on the immigration issue as others have. As long as you can speak French, it's not too difficult to find a job. If you only speak English, then it could be rather difficult, as the market for English speakers is limited. Temperatures average around -12ºC in the winter, although it can get as cold as -30º. Public transit to the suburbs (i.e. buses and trains) occasionally experiences delays, but the metro (subway) rarely shuts down due to weather. For cars it depends on what kind of car you have. Reliable car makes will run no problem, but if you have a less reliable make or an older car in general then you might find that it refuses to start up on really cold mornings. A lot of people have block heaters so they can plug their car in overnight to keep the engine warm.

Yes it gets cold. It looks FROZEN because it is. Canadians still get out and about when it snows. A train after small snow fall. After a large one In the city You will need to look into the immigration rules. To go to Quebec it is urged that you also know French to help in your job search. http://www.cic.gc.ca/app/ctcvac/english/index Why drive when you can skate? When it gets cold out you wear warmer clothes. Grit supplies for road crews are not a thing that is discussed in Parliament like in England. You may want to look online at various job sites for your field. There are jobs but what are YOUR qualifications to get one? Sorry Canada is not looking for general labourers. Have a trade it is a big country and many jobs for trades outside of the BIG cities.
