Im 23, dont eat alot of salty or fried foods. Im pretty active. My pressure is 132/90 or higer. Ive hadnt had a good pressure in years. I go to the doc but they never say anything.

there are other ways of getting high blood pressure other than from food. stress is also a large contributor, so is smoking tobacco or pot. 132/90 is pretty high dont wait for the doc to bring it up to you, bring it up to them and let them know you want them to monitor it. most offices do not require an appointment and will check your pressure on a drop in basis to keep it charted. once they start seeing that it is regularly high they should take action. also you would be surprided at the sodium you could be ingesting. steer clear of any pre packaged, canned or frozen foods that have salt or sodium listed within the first 5 ingredients.

It could be a few different things. I'm healthy and active, but my blood pressure was up when I was dealing with a lot of stress. I know it's simple and very basic, but stress causes quite a few problems. I'm not saying that's what it is, but I am saying it's a possibility. Dehydration might assist in it as well. Try to drink lots of water and relax. If it doesn't help, go to a different doctor.

You should definitely see another doctor. You probably have hereditary high blood pressure and the only way to get it under control is with medicine. If your b/p stays this way, over time it does damage to your blood vessels and the first thing to go is your kidneys. You don't want anything to happen to them. I also suggest you try and change the way you eat, eating more healthy, fresh fruits and vegetables, lean protein. Try to eat less processed foods, white flour products, sugary things, sodas. Drink more water and make sure you have protein with every meal. Whole grain products are best, but make sure they don't have any high fructose corn syrup in them. You should also start exercising every day. Start by taking a walk for 20 minutes and increase the amount of time each week. You'll feel better and will help with your blood pressure........Good Luck.......

I would suggest that you change the Doctor. The doctor should start you on a low dose medication. I have high blood pressure and when it is high my head hurt. The best way to keep track of your blood pressure is to buy a blood pressure kit, and take your blood pressure first thing when you wake up. Do it for about a week, an average of the every day reading is where you are at.

Here's a link that might help you out. Just a suggestion, even if you don't eat a lot of salty food maybe you should try drinking more water. I mean actual water too, nothing flavored because of the sugar. (Which could also cause some headaches, not to mention the fact that plain water is better for you anyways.)
