Should I keep investing in 401k or move it to a Roth IRA or other investment?
-
With the markets hurting right now, mine has been losing like most, but is it time to move the money or stay the course?
-
Answer:
Moot point. If you still work for the employer that you have the 401k with, you can't move it out. If a Roth IRA was invested in the same securities, it too would be losing money.

1) If you think the market is down, why would you want to sell right here? Wouldn't you want to buy? 2) Doesn't your 401K have a company match? An IRA does not. 3) What would you invest in an IRA? Stocks? 4) If you don't like the stock market (bad call) doesn't your 401K have fixed income options. Keep your 401K going.

I would stick with the 401K.
