Yes, mold can cause the symptoms you describe and much worse. Some types of mold can kill, like... http://hubpages.com/hub/Black-Mold-A-Deadly-Allergen and http://www.toxic-black-mold-info.com/moldtypes.htm one of the worst of which is Stachybotrys. Take a sample of the mold and have it tested. Then do whatever you have to do to get rid of the mold. Wear a really good mask when you're down in the basement. or handling the mold.

yes allergies from the spores. best bet is to burn down the house and build a new one. past that you can clean and oil the wooden surfaces, dry and paint the non wooden surfaces, replace the carpeting and if possible tear out the wallpaper, clean the base wall and then rewallpaper it. contractors can do it for you if not, hire a few close friends and work on it every weekend for the next two months. ps.remember to change the air conditioning/heater filters, wash your hanging clothes regularly and clean behind furniture/appliances. this portion also helps against dust mites.

Ent docs? Ct scan, blood work for antibodies or eosinophils and IgE levels? ent docs try to get away with not treating "mold", did they culture anything? The say, it's your body's reaction to the mold, BS, then they give you prednisone. oral, can try sinus rinse, Neilmed, this helps alot, stay out of basement, have air ducts vacuumed out w Monster Vac, they're a bit expensive, like $400. mold is everywhere, if aspergillus, may treat you with sporonex or poseconazole, (expensive without insurance, like a thousand) this is a wait and see situation. did they scope you? sometimes, steroid nasal sprays, headaches can get really bad, migraine type. which has some allergy component and hormonal too. Have you tried original sudafed, 120mg 2x daily or mucinex 1200mg otc or Afrin nasal spray? Get CXR done for baseline, as what you breath in through nose, well, goes in lungs, too. mold fungus balls take a long time to grow. there is an aspergillus.com website. hope you feel better soon. put some bleach on that mold! dry out basement w heater, not at same time as bleach.
