http://www.oscars.org/awards/nicholl/scriptsample.pdf The link here at the top of my post is a good one, I think. Freshman year of film school, I was in a screenwriting class and this script was one of the first things the teacher showed us. It's a good resource - Basically it's a short script that includes all the major parts of a typically formatted screenplay, but more importantly, the script is about 2 people talking about screenwriting and it actually explains the different parts of the format. One thing to keep in mind as your learning the format - Format is absolutely important, but it's also only a guideline. There isn't a single formatting rule that hasn't been broken by big-name screenwriter or another at some point. For example, William Goldman (writer of Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid, among many others) was noted for his virtually complete lack of transitions for the Butch Cassidy screenplay. I also recommend checking out a piece of software called Celtx. It's completely free screenwriting software, and makes writing a screenplay a breeze. The only other screenwriting software I've tried that I like more is Final Draft, which is the industry standard, but also not cheap. However, both do an equally good job overall of producing a properly formatted screenplay, I only like Final Draft more because of some of the customization options, and because Celtx has this annoying thing where you have to be online for some reason in order to create a PDF copy of your script with a title page included. Last bit of advice - Don't start with your 30 minute movie. I promise you, the first movie you make is going to be terrible. And 30 minutes may not sound like much to the uninitiated, but that's a lot of screen time, and as such, that many more opportunities for things to go wrong. I suggest writing a 4-5 page script for something else and shooting that. Do that a few times, maybe throw in a 10 or 15 minute film. Trust me, after the first one or two 5 minute films, that 30 minute film is going to feel pretty darn ambitious, but you'll also be much better equipped to handle it.

I know a few scripts have been published as books over the years. While one can’t really consider Satyajit Ray a Bollywood director, his book is the first one that comes to mind:https://www.amazon.com/Chess-Players-Other-Screenplays/dp/0571140742/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1468261551&sr=1-1&keywords=satyajit+ray+chessThat’s certainly not the only one, however.
