I was able to get a JSL teaching spot only after a month of staying in Tokyo... but be warned a lot of their system runs through get a recommendation from someone important. I was able to go to Japan a few times as a kid and became good friends with a past mayor... so that's where my amazing letter of recommendation came from. Everywhere in the world is looking for more positions to fill in the IT department.. but if you've played with many Japanese OS you'd truly realize they're fairly decrepit and dated. First and foremost though... you gotta cram cram cram that language well n good. Even if you were to get a job at said company you need to be able to read and type a LOT of Kanji. Honestly i'd suggest getting a so-so IT job here in the states and while doing so cram like crazy on that Japanese. Yes you'll learn a lot of useful japanese quickly while in Japan.. but stuff there can be expensive and i wouldn't want to send you there just to come back broke. 頑張って!!! ^_^

most call centre jobs are being sent offshore from the U.S and Canada cause of cheap labour elsewhere like Asia, india etc. It would be nice that a call from here could be directed to someone who actually knows what they are talking about get a job at one of these centres, ask for more training, get sent to the U.S / Canada for training (paid), hell while you are there marry some frilly little Japanese girl bring her with you get her pregnant here that way she can stay here, go back and bring all of her relatives back here.....why work for a living

Your best bet with your experience and degree is to get something in the IT department. Pretty low pay, but there are plenty of opportunities still out there. www.gaijinpot.com www.tokyoclassifieds.com www.jobsinjapan.com www.piqniq.jp

I doubt that when you get there you will accept any job. But if you really want to, you could make wallets for 6 cents an hour.
