Answer:
Try to apply for modeling agency in Australia first. If you can make it there, you can make it in Japan, too. There are some modeling agencies looking for foreign models. So you can apply for their auditions. Addition: You look great. So I think you can work as a model. But the problem is visa. Modeling is basically unstable job. They do not issue visa for modeling unless you are one of top models. So foreign models in Japan are the people who already have other visas to stay in Japan.

I don't know how to start it in Japan, but yes you can, you look good. The problem is how to choose a right agency, and you have the things for it or how lucky you are. (there are many good looking girls in the world, so luck or some kind of special things is also important, isn't it?) There are some pseudos who tell lie that they offer you job, and say you need to pay some to register, but then they don't contact you anymore. Or worse, they offer a job which is kind of you never want to do. Check the website of your favorite magazines and see if you can contact them.

Not sure of your age but I would recommend if you are at least 19 or 20 that you get a working holiday visa. No degree or anything required, then you can teach English part-time. It would be very easy for you to get a job as an English teacher as long as you didn't coem across as being a high school girl- just because people who are paying good money for lessons might (correctly) think that you had no experience or qualifications. If you were a little older they wouldn't know. Many schools hire poeple with no experience or qualifications. That visa would allow you to stay for a year and work up to 20 hours a week to support yourself, whcih is a lot for a model. Like all countries, I think modeling is typically hard to break into, but I think you have a great look for Japan, and it is possible that you could do incredibly well here. It would probably take a while to make a name for yourself and one of the most important aspects would be getting with the right agency- someoen who is able to provide you with what you want, which is probably good exposure early on, and big money shortly after. If I were you I would start researching so that you find out exactly which city ( i asume toktyo but could be wrong) and which companies are best for you. Then email photos and if that doesn't work have a Japaneses friend call them for you. I am absolutely sure you could get some work, even though I am not in the industry, but whether that turns out to be the odd bit of extra part time work, or a career will be a roll of the dice, and down to your determination and skill at giving yourself maximum opportunities. Go for it, but give yourself a chance. a working holiday visa wouild allow you to spend a year here working at it. Also, you can probably get part time work til you make it big posing for amateur photographers who want to pretend they are professionals, or make it pro themselves.
Mark in Japan
Having worked with people working on campaigns using "white" talent in Japan. I would advise strongly against it. White is out in Japan now. Korean is big. Trendy place. Up and down. Plus the common consensus is that the "white" models in Japan are of much lower quality than the ones abroad so a lot of companies go to NYC, Paris or London now I think. Again without language you are not going to get further than Roppongi. Seriously consider your options and do not expect to have a warm welcome in Japan.

It will be very hard considering there are millions of white girls that think the same thing. They are all obsessed with japanese culture and think they can be stars there. You will get A LOT of competition. Nowadays, there seems to be a shift to more asian looks and japanese people would rather hire their own than some foreigners.

mmm you are really cute for a ordinary person, but for a professional model, I will give you 2 out of 10. You need to change your hair, and smaller nose, fatter lip etc... My sister is in fashion business, so I have seen many models, I mean their pictures for auditions of AD. Most of them are from Eastern Europe recently, they all look so beautiful to me, but my sis would say like "this one has the problem with face line, and nose is too big" so on... To be a model is rather easy, to get a modeling job is competitive! Good luck!
