Can i travel to japan if im a convicted felon?

I think it's likely that you get denied entry to Japan if you have felony history.

I hear the Japanese are pretty good about keeping trash out of their country. Unlike Sweden, Norway, or the Netherlands.

no i don't think so, my boyfriend is also a felon and he cant get a passport and he needs to get a pass from his po to even to leave the state, and now days you would need a passport to go in other countries, the best thing to do is to ask your po if you have one or the local court house and they could point you in the right direction

I KNOW of somebody that had a felony conviction on the record and still came to Japan. Of course, he had a passport. That is what they look at. Now, as for your PO, I can't tell you. But when you come through customs and immigration, they do little other than glance at your passport and pass you on.

If you are just visiting, you have a passport, and by your felon terms it is okay to leave this country, yes. However, on the plane to Japan they will as you if you have ever been convicted of a crime. It depends on the crime. Violence/drug-related/theft, probably not. Getting a Visa, you have no chance.

Well, if you have a passport you might be able to travel to Japan, but you won't be allowed to enter the country and will be unceremoniously returned to your home country. American criminals' finger prints are on the Japanese system, so there's no getting past it.
