What's it like living in Dubai?

  • hey all, can anyone tell me what it's like living in dubai? my parents are considering Dubai as a place they might want to move to. & i wanna know, what's life in Dubai like?

    yes, i mean they dont tollerate christian faiths.... but what i do know is... they are very truthful people; you can leave your purse on the floor and nobody will touch it... its a sense of respect in dubai that counts. i think some of there punishments are still from the past too. i think its a big shock coming from the states to dubai. but good luck!

Please do not believe people badmouthing the UAE. The UAE is very tolerant on any Religion. Please visit: http://www.startpagedubai.com/Churches.htm Your question is hard to answer not knowing where you are from, your lifestyle, age and your father's profession. At least I can assure you that you will be able to enjoy nice beaches (Jumairah beach) and have great shopping opportunities. In case your parents move here, you will experience living together with many Nationalities. Mostly Indians, Pakistanis and Philippinas. If you are an opened minded person you will not have any problems to fit in. Just get together with your classmates and have a normal life. Take care.

They are very strict on their religion and abide by it whatever. It's also an expensive and luxurious life at the same time. There are very few christian faiths but they're like the really rich business people.

The people are very extreme and do not tollerate Christian Faiths....A friend of mine from Ireland was living and working over there with a group of friends and one of them was killed in a car crash. In memory of him they erected a Crucifix at the spot where he was killed, something thats done in Ireland, the locals were outraged and a group of them smashed up the Crucifix in rage. I would not live over there if they gave me an Oil field as a present...However others may not share my views which is understandable because of the Earning power over there... This story was aired on our local radio station.. Add.. H top contributor below is a liar dont believe him...The story I told you is the truth so that cancels out his ******** ...

Listen to H, she knows and when I was moving here, I asked many questions and H responded with very accurate answers. As far as my opinion of living here... it's a great, crazy, frustrating, fun, boring, enlightening city! It's just like anywhere else, you get used to things adn hopefully if your dad makes really good money, you won't want for anything. But I do have to say I don't really see too many teenagers here from other countries. If your dad gets serious about moving here, feel free to contact me. I will be glad to help any way I can.
