How long should i wait after starting up my car before i can put it in gear and drive?

    after starting the car ,check safety belt , mirrors, dashboard lights , then drive , why would you use the gear shift if it is automatic

Two weeks old from new or 10 years old and you've had it for two weeks. You shouldn't need to warm it up at all. Either way it could be a transmission issue. If it's new bring it into the dealer and have it checked

On modern fuel injected cars, you don not have to let them warm up. Start it up wait about 30 seconds to get the oil flowing and drive conservatively until the water temperature rises to normal operating temperature.
