Is Israel a religious state or how do you define?

England has an official state church -- the Church of England and the leader of the church is also the leader of the state -- The Queen So - do you consider England a religious state? Israel is substantialy less so. More like some European countries -- there is an acknowledged cultural religious connection of Judaism. Regarding Israeli religious parties -- any special interest in Israel can form a political party. For example - there is the WWII veterans to legalize marijuana party. There are currently three religious Jewish parties. There are also two Arab interest parties. WIth respect to religion -- Israel takes religious freedom very seriously It has a system where each religious community governs itself with respect to religious matters (for example -- marriage is handled by the Rabbinate for Jews, the Waqf for Muslims, the various church agencies for Christians) The only rabbis who get paid by the government are those in the administrative agency which offers Kosher supervision to those restaurants who want it. With respect to immigration - the Law of Return is not related to religious definitions of Jew. it is based on providing a secure refugee system for those who are persecuted all over the world for being Jewish. The basic summary of the structure of the rule is "would Hitler have killed you as a Jew?" - then you can come in under the law of return. But many such people are not Jewish by the Jewish cultural-religious standards.

Israel is secular Zionist state they only use judaism as a cover

It is better defined as a pseudo-religious, totalitarian colonial regime. The guiding ideology is from a series of books called the Talmud which some consider religious. Israel has a caste system as well. Not as developed as the caste system in India but Israel is catching up. There is no slavery in Israel at the moment but there is nothing in the holy text that precludes reintroduction, either.

Israel is not a religious state, but it is a Jewish state. that means it will always be a home for Jews around the world. the sheer existence of the Jewish people is a miracle, especially since ALL conquerors tried to destroy the Jewish nation time and time again throughout history. a lot of people hate Israel/Jews since our existence is like a big sign posted against their faces, saying: f*ck you, you can't destroy us, your imaginary friend is not better than ours :-)

Israel is a secular democracy. Israel's court system, its laws, its legislature, etc. are ALL secular and democratic.

Well it's an official Jewish state, but in truth its secular as people of many different faiths make up the population. There are approx 1,240,000 Muslims in Israel. Since 1950 the number of Muslims in Israel has been on the rise. My country (England) is officially a Christian country but it too caters for many different faiths.

It is apartheid colonial state with laws, although not religious, favorable to Jews. The right of return law for example states that only people with Jewish religion or Jewish ancestry can return. Not only that this constitutes a missapplication of the verb "to return" - since vast majority of Jews and their recorded ancestors never set foot in Israel/Palestine prior to their "return" - but also denies native people who were expelled by Israel the right to return due to their religion/ethnicity. This is not how democracy works. If you read the diaries of the founder of Israel Ben Gorioun, you will find out that the Jewish state which he proposed was a colonial one with main purpose to create Jewish majority on as much Arab land as possible by all means, including ethnic cleansing. This explains Israel's wars against its neighbours and constant attempts to expand its borders by building illegal apartheid Jewish-only settlements in territories occupied by war. These settlements do not only violate the international law, but also the basic human rights of native Palestinians, like the right to travel (Palestinians are not allowed to travel through or use the settlement roads) and equal access to water and other West Bank natural resources (native Palestinians receive less running water than illegal settlers, look up "water apartheid"). People who claim Israel is democracy obviously have no idea what democracy actually means.
