What is it like to work for marketing?

For what products/businesses is affiliate marketing particularly effective?  Does it work well for digital content like movies, books, and games?

    It's effective for products and services with a large potential for traffic (i.e. coupon sites) or a high product price point (B2B).  Amazon offers small commissions, but offers a large potential for traffic due to the immense number of items that can be offered.  On the other hand, an affiliate program like http://profitpress.com generates less traffic, but pays out $100 per sale. In my experience, it's better to opt for programs with higher payouts.  You can make more money with a significantly lower amount of traffic that's highly targeted.

Give me another year, and I hope to do great things in this space. What interests you? What are you passionate about? What are you knowledgeable about? Build a great online presence (website, social media, online communities, etc.) and go from there. Don't do forex or porn or online gambling. It's too competitive (and, in my opinion, immoral and/or unethical). Good luck!
